The demand for translations is increasing, still customers require translations be done faster and better in order to meet

competition. To be able to solve this contradiction without damage the quality and to speed up the translation process I

use translator tools. Every profession has tools and I think there aren't many translators remained who work without

proper technical equipment, which was meant to help avoiding mistakes, especially it's relevant for technical translation,

where is important to maintain a terminological uniformity.

 My Working Tools:
  • Word 2010 + Wordfast

  • Omega-T (CAT)

  • Deja-Vu X2 (this is my favorite CAT tool )

  • Star Dict (shell for dictionaries)

  • Golden Dict

  • Microsoft Exel

  • Open Word Apache (analogue of Word; it has more file extensions)

  • Firefox, Explorer, Opera, Safari, Google Chrome

  • WinRar

  • Total commander

  • Babylon (dictionaries)

  • PDF creator, Do Pdf (program for creating pdf files)

  • Photoshop, Picassa (programs for working with graphic files)

  • Dicto (another dictionary with dictionaries)

  • Notepad++

  • I've got a large amount of different dictionaries. There are dictionaries available through license, yet some are

available for free use, if you are interested, please click here to download.

P.S. I don't use Trados (it slows down my computer).
